ANNOUNCEMENT OF REGIONAL ELECTION
Since September 25, 2010 Hippiedom has grown from 13 to about 70 nations. In light of this rapid growth it seems fair to allow the newly arrived nations to determine the elected leader of Hippiedom.
The WA Delegate is the elected leader of the region, deals with WA matters, is involved in diplomacy with other regions and is a respected and influential adviser to the Founder.
The WA Delegate greets and endorses newly arriving nations, often convenes message board discussion, and, if the founder nation ceases to exist, assumes regional control and protects the region against invasions.
To qualify to vote for WA Delegate, a nation must have WA membership, and be committed to being a long term resident of Hippiedom. A nation may not become Delegate by gaining endorsements from nations that enter the region just to elect a delegate.
The election works as follows: WA members vote by endorsing other WA nations. You may endorse whatever WA nations you want. You can and should endorse more then one nation if you desire. You may withdraw endorsements. It is possible for the WA Delegate to change a few times before the issue is settled. When the Delegate holding the most endorsements at the end of the process remains that nation will be declared the winner, and WA nations will be encouraged to endorse the Delegate
Hard Line Commies, as regional Founder, is officially neutral and will endorse all WA nations, but will not allow it’s endorsement to determine a winner. If this happens Hard Line Commies will withdraw it’s endorsement and allow other nations in the region to decide the matter.
Any nation seeking to serve as Delegate should post a message seeking the position, explain what you will do for the region if elected, and should have a strong interest in WA affairs.
You may endorse a nation for any reason, if you like it’s flag, nation name, motto or message board postings. All WA nations in the region as of today, except Hard Line Commies, may qualify to be the WA Delegate.
